About the Manistee County Tourism Authority
The mission of the Manistee County Tourism Authority is to enhance Manistee County’s position as a premier northern Michigan travel destination. Through marketing, education and collaboration, the Tourism Authority leads in the development and promotion of a prosperous tourism economy.
The Manistee County Tourism Authority is was incorporated in 1996 as a 501 (c) (6) as the Manistee County Convention and Visitors Bureau Inc., and is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of 12 Manistee County lodging, tourism and community members; and is led by an executive director.
As a destination marketing organization under the State of Michigan Public Act 59, the Manistee County Tourism Authority reports to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Travel Michigan office. The authority is a partner in the Pure Michigan campaign, and members of the West Michigan Tourist Association, Michigan Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association and the Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce.
